Team Building at TreeTops

THE Central Coast Academy of Sport’s Swimming Squad participated in a team-building day on Saturday 16th July. The day gave our athletes the opportunity to get to know one another better and to challenge themselves out of the water at TreeTops Adventure Park.

The day begun with the squad completing a two-hour session in the pool at Peninsula Leisure Centre (PLC). Here the squad was tested by an inflatable obstacle course, which was enjoyable for all.

Following the session at PLC the athletes were lucky enough to partake in an afternoon of climbing, weaving and flying through over 100 elevated obstacles at TreeTops Adventure Park. The change in scenery handed the athletes the chance to broaden their knowledge in their communication skills, safety consciousness and adventurous spirit.

Joining the athletes on the day were Head Coach Graeme Carroll and Assistant Coaches Shane Shepard and Angus McKay who also got to join in on the fun and get to know their squad better.

When asked what he thought about the day as a whole Carroll said, “It was such a great opportunity for the athletes to challenge themselves when at the adventure park. The fear of height and overcoming other obstacles along the way really helped the squad to step outside of their comfort zone and build their confidence in other areas. We all had a good laugh and you can really see how well everyone has bonded together as a result”

A huge thanks to all the coaches and parents for helping out on the day to make a memorable experience for our athletes. Due to the great success of the day, CCAS looks forward to future team building days in other programs.
