The Central Coast Academy of Sport is proud to announce the recent re-appointment of Will Granger, as Head Coach of the Country NSW U16’s Men’s basketball squad. As well as this role Will is also a current assistant coach in the CCAS Basketball program.

Will’s re-appointment to the NSW team comes as a great show of belief by Basketball NSW in his coaching ability, and it solidifies Will’s status as a growing talent in the basketball coaching ranks.

Will joins other CCAS coaches to be appointed as head coaches of NSW basketball teams with Tim Hudson being appointed as the 2017 U20’s Men’s Coach, Matt Johnson and Drew Fenton previously coaching the U16 NSW Country Women’s team’s with all coaches having been heavily involved with the CCAS Basketball Program for a number of years.

When asked about his re-appointment Will said, “I am extremely excited at the opportunity to coach this team again after doing so last year and I am tremendously grateful to Basketball NSW for the opportunity they have given me. Hopefully we can improve on last year’s results at the Australian Junior Championships by making the top eight or better and of course help continue to develop and improve all the boy’s talents. Finally I would like to thank the Central Coast Academy of Sport for allowing me to be a part of their basketball program, I believe this opportunity has allowed me to grow and develop my coaching skills immensely”.

When asked about his thoughts on Will’s appointment and what the news means for the Central Coast Academy of Sport, Managing Director, Ian Robilliard said, “It is an excellent achievement by Will to be re-appointed as Head Coach of the U16’s NSW Country Men’s, his appointment is a great reflection on the Basketball program and its ability to help develop coaches as well as athletes. Will’s appointment strengthens the CCAS’s relationship with Basketball NSW and I wish Will the best of luck as he starts to prepare the schedule and plans for the U16’s program. The National Championships are scheduled for Perth in July, so no doubt he is across this as we close in on Christmas. I can also announce Will will move into the Head Coach Position at the Academy with the recent news Drew Fenton is moving back to Melbourne early in the New Year”.

The central Coast Academy of Sport would like to congratulate Will on his achievements so far and wish him luck in his future coaching endeavours and we cannot wait to hear about his successes in the future.
