The CCAS, together with the local Touch Football Associations, have developed an elite junior development program, the program includes on field and off field components. The major emphasis is on individual skill development and game sense. The program is supported by Central Coast Granite, a leading local organisation wanting to provide further sporting opportunities for athletes of our region.
Mark Tipple the CCAS Programs & Communications Coordinator said of the program: “The athletes selected will gain a real competitive advantage over other boys and girls their age. Six (6) months of skill and game sense training, as well as gym, and education sessions will give these athletes an invaluable kick start to the representative season. I have seen first hand, how a targeted high performance program can assist athletes who are wanting to advance their skills to a higher level.”
The Central Coast Granite Academy of Sport Touch Football Program is open to both male and female athletes who are registered players in Touch Football competitions on the Central Coast.
The CCAS will select a squad of up to twenty four (24) athletes, twelve (12) boys and twelve (12) girls, who are of the highest standard regardless of position. Selectors will focus on the individual skills of athletes rather than a teams performance. A selection panel of CCAS coaches and independent coaches will review each applicant.
The CCAS decision regarding athlete selection is based on objective and subjective measures and the CCAS holds final responsibility for the selection of athlete’s into this high performance program.
