
Jacinta Govind joins the coaching ranks of the CCAS Basketball Program in 2018 and will bring immediate benefits to a highly successful program due to her outstanding playing and coaching career spanning in excess of twenty years. A former junior representative player for Gosford City Rebels Jacinta achieved State Country selection (U16 and U18 teams), an ITC Scholarship holder (2001-03) before advancing her career in the Waratah League in the State League competition. It was here her playing career came under the notice of talent scouts with her winning the Rookie of the Year Award (2004) which then saw her advance to the Canberra Nationals in the Australian Basketball Association (ABA) League. An MVP winner for the Canberra Nationals was the catalyst to be selected to the Canberra Gunners in the Womens NBL for season 2007/08.
More recently Jacinta has coached in the representative ranks for both Gosford City and Central Coast Crusader Program’s, she is the current Captain of the Crusaders Championship Womens team who are competing in the NSW Waratah League.
Jacinta’s coaching philosophy is centered on the need to master the basics, a firm believer that basic, fundamental skills allow for progression up the athlete pathway.
