Ian Robilliard has a long history in Basketball as a former professional player for the Newcastle Falcons and Sydney Kings (287 NBL games), coach and administrator; Ian has extensive experience un-matched in the sport within the region. Ian is a former Head Coach of the Sydney Kings (NBL), a former CEO of the Sydney Kings and more recently as the Head Coach of the Central Coast Crusaders (Championship Men’s Team) where many athletes who have progressed through the Academy now play their senior basketball.
Ian is a NCAS Level 2 Basketball Coach and a recipient of the Australian Sports Medal for services to Basketball, a recent recipient of an OAM for his service to the sport. Ian has combined his love of sport into a hands on role at the CCAS and he remains ‘on court’ in a coaching capacity for the Basketball Program.
Ian’s coaching philosophy is about decision based coaching, which simply means, players being able to make the best decisions to achieve the best result they can due to the ‘read and react’ nature of the sport.
