The Central Coast Academy of Sport swimming squad are preparing to compete in the ACT Swimming Championships. The event will be held from Saturday 3rd – Sunday 4th August at the AIS in Canberra.

A team of 9 athletes, two coaches (Graeme Carroll and Patrick Uljan) and a manager (Leanne Hall) are headed to Canberra for the two day event. The group will be able to enjoy all the facilities at the AIS as not only will they compete there they are also staying onsite. The AIS is Australia’s premier elite sports precinct. A place that cannot be found anywhere else in Australia.

CCAS Head Coach Graeme Carroll said of the meet ‘The CCAS team are very much looking forward to competing at the ACT Championships. As part of our program the development of our athletes to an elite level the opportunity to travel to Canberra is a must. This allows athletes to experience the requirements of an international athlete in their daily environment (sleeping, training and eating). Last year our CCAS group were onsite with the Matilda’s, the Australian Women’s Rugby Sevens Team as well as the AIS Basketball team. For a young athlete to be able to look at Australia’s top athletes, this opportunity is very rare and we are excited about having this experience again’

The CCAS wish all the athletes heading to Canberra the best of luck:
