JNJG provides a golf curriculum and skill modules to support the Central Coast Academy of Sport Callaway Golf Program. The modules cover skill components, core skill testing procedures, drills and reporting protocols for all scholarship athletes.
The aim of the Central Coast Academy of Sport Callaway Golf Program is to provide aspiring young male and female golfers of the NSW Central Coast region with genuine opportunities and support to up-skill across all areas of the sport, gain educational and personal development both on and off the course, and to enhance their prospects of progressing further in the development pathway.
The Central Coast Academy of Sport, through the Central Coast District Golf Association, provides Central Coast local golf clubs with information regarding scholarship opportunities within the annual Central Coast Academy of Sport Callaway Golf Program.
It is the responsibility of local Central Coast golf clubs to approach and nominate suitable athletes from within their club to apply for a scholarship position with the Central Coast Academy of Sport.
Each athlete identified will be assessed and if successful will gain selection to the squad, each athlete must be endorsed by their local club as a suitable representative of the club and worthy of a place within the Central Coast Academy of Sport Golf Program.
Athletes are selected from local Central Coast golf clubs and through the Central Coast Academy of Sport Callaway Golf program, and can then be identified by JNJG to gain selection in further development programs including state team representation opportunities.
The Central Coast Academy of Sport Callaway Golf Program is open to male and female junior golfers aged 11 to 17 years, who are permanent residents of the NSW Central Coast and who are a representative of a local Central Coast golf club.
Preferred Handicaps are 18 and under for boys and 27 or under for female athletes.
To be selected for a scholarship position within the squad, an athlete must apply for a position and have their application endorsed by their local Central Coast golf club & his / her application will be assessed by the selection panel before a squad is announced.
The program fee covers: full scholarship athletes receive a minimum of 30 hours on-course training through a professional regular training schedule based program with an increased focus on error identification & correction, technology for superior golf, skill development, off course education, personal development and playing opportunities where athletes will represent the Central Coast Academy of Sport at annual major events including the ClubsNSW Academy Games (Selected Squad) & Inter Academy Challenges
Scholarship athletes will also receive a CCAS merchandise kit consisting of a playing polo, CCAS tracksuit (Optional), CCAS backpack and a Cap, Balls and Glove set supplied by Callaway Golf. Athletes will also receive 20% off the rrp of CCAS and 2XU merchandise, a family ticket (4 pax) to the CCAS Annual Awards evening and preferred pricing for Victor Sports and Water to Go among others.
