Netball Umpires

2024/25

The 2023/24 Program is currently running. Nominations for the 2024/25 Program will open in October.

The Central Coast Academy of Sport Netball Umpires program provides a localised training environment for eligible, aspiring young netball Umpires of the NSW Central Coast region to access quality development opportunities and support. The Netball Umpires program is also supported by the Greater Bank and this level of support provides outstanding opportunities for successful applicants.

Umpires will receive expert coaching and participate in both practical and educational development sessions throughout the program under the guidance of the CCAS umpire coaching staff. This program is recognised as part of the program pathway for umpires under the Netball NSW pathway and the established Central Coast umpires pathway.

Umpires who are successful in gaining access to the program will undertake a similar schedule of training to the athlete pathway and will work closely with the athlete pathways program to form a highly integrated umpiring program. The 2024/25 Umpire program will commence in November 2024.

The Central Coast Academy program operates under Netball Australia and Netball NSW guidelines to up-skill umpires and prepare them for competitions and their next badge upgrade.

The following benefits will apply to athletes selected within the CCAS Netball Umpire Program:

  • Skills training & mentoring to further develop abilities
  • Opportunities to represent the CCAS as Umpires in the ‘Your Local Club’ Academy Games, Academy Challenge and various other events
  • Education sessions to ensure umpires also learn to prepare themselves off the court;
  • A CCAS merchandise kit
