MAY 2019, The Central Coast Academy of Sport is delighted to announce a new three-year partnership with family owned and operated business Central Coast Granite.

The CCAS Basketball Program recently enjoyed another high with both the boys and girls squads winning the gold medal games at the Your Local Club Academy Games competition held early April in Newcastle.  The boys going undefeated throughout the competition, with the girls dropping only one game before both teams recording convincing wins in the grand finals of the event.

It has been many years since both squads have tasted gold medal success at the Academy Games and the future looks even brighter with the announcement today that Central Coast Granite will apply financial support to this highly successful program.

The CCAS has over the years prided their sporting success on the commercial support received across the organisation and applied to the fourteen sports programs offered.  The commercial platform that is established from local companies and organisations who support the CCAS do so with the knowledge that any support will assist in the reduction of the financial hurdles that are often associated with pre-elite athlete development.

Ian Robilliard the CCAS Managing Director and a coach in the Basketball Program said of the support by Central Coast Granite: “Jim Cunnington and his family have a very strong connection to Basketball on the Central Coast and when a ‘gap’ in our commercial platform became evident it made logical sense to see if Jim and his family might be interested in supporting this program.  I was delighted when Jim suggested a three-year partnership to the program and this level of support will help attract the very best coaches and athletes to the program.  Central Coast Granite is a company who are very philanthropic and it’s great to see a local organisation applying their support to a sport they love and are closely linked with.  The support by CCG makes a huge difference to what the Academy can provide I thank Jim and his family for the support they provide to the Central Coast Academy Of Sport.”

Jim Cunnington the owner of Central Coast Granite said of the basketball partnership; “It’s a pleasure to be involved with Ian and the Academy of Sport and continue our support of Central Coast junior sport especially basketball, which has been a huge part of our lives”.
