The Central Coast Academy of Sport’s annual UAA Indigenous Talent ID Day has produced some outstanding results in recent years and the 2019 program has just received a fantastic ‘health tick of approval’ through additional support from the Poche Indigenous Health Network.

Philanthropists Greg Poche AO and Kay Van Norton Poche AO have recently aligned their support to the Central Coast Academy of Sport Indigenous Program and it could not have come at a better time.

The Poche Indigenous Health Network has a charter to work with local communities and raise the awareness of the importance of supporting young Indigenous leaders as they are our future.

Poche Indigenous Health Network is closely linked to the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles NRL Club and their support to the Sea Eagles’ NRL Indigenous Round ‘home’ game to be played at Central Coast Stadium in May 2020 has seen this partnership come to life.

UAA CEO, Michael Murphy, said of the additional support by Poche Indigenous Health Network:

“The announcement by the Central Coast Academy of Sport to the Indigenous Talent ID Program is simply fantastic. UAA is an organisation committed to supporting the up and coming youth leaders and I know the Poche Indigenous Health Network is aligned to a similar cause specific to our Indigenous youth.  As the only region in NSW doing this type of work I can’t thank Poche Indigenous Health Network enough for recognising the importance of this work and I look forward to working mutually with them to continue to build the program and the opportunities it presents.”

Ian Robilliard OAM, the CCAS Managing Director, said of this new partnership:

“I take my hat off to Luke Tucker the General Manager of Corporate at Manly Warringah Sea Eagles for thinking of the CCAS and how Poche Indigenous Health Network could work together in this important program.  Since we launched this program some three years ago we have achieved some outstanding results and an injection of financial support by Poche Indigenous Health Network will allow us to further develop the program and provide important opportunities for those chosen as scholarship athletes following the Talent ID day. I know the benefits of working in a collaborative environment with likeminded people and this announcement is simply outstanding.”
