JULY 2019, with the rubber finally gaining traction on the road Sport Central Coast is showing how an engaged sports community can gain considerable benefit through a collaborative approach to sport development.

On Wednesday 24th July Sport Central Coast hosted their second ‘collaboration event’, an event that focused on the importance of media, social media, marketing and promotion and how connections in the media industry would reap benefits for local sport.  It was a night to savor, an evening with plenty of important messages for the sector and an event that again showed how a collaborative approach to sport development will help our athletes, our region and the recreation sector of the Central Coast.

Ian Robilliard the Managing Director of the Central Coast Academy of Sport and Deputy Chair of Sport Central Coast said: “Sport Central Coast is starting to show how important it is to be aligned to this body, an organisation that is really trying to harness the sector together through collaboration and information sharing.  I’ve worked in sport for many years, I’ve volunteered in sport for years and all too often people are left to their own devices when all they might need is a little guidance and support to really help them in their role at local clubs and associations.  Sport Central Coast is an organisation that will make a difference to sport and active recreation, I have no doubt about that. I’m really delighted the organisation is starting to get people talking about the events being delivered for our region, it really is exciting times ahead.”

Sport Central Coast is an independent Not-For-Profit organisation established in March 2019 to assist the NSW Government with the delivery of the key result areas of the regions Sport and Active Recreation Plan.  Sport Central Coast acknowledges the support of host venue Mingara Recreation Club, event sponsor Southern Cross Austereo and the upcoming awards night set down for Thursday 28 November to be held at Gosford RSL.
