The Central Coast Academy of Sport Callaway Golf Program is now up and underway with an Orientation Program held recently at Kooindah Water Golf Club and an exciting start to the ‘on course’ program ready to take shape at Shelly Beach Golf Club.

Fifteen (15) up and coming local juniors were successful in gaining a position to the program and the plans ahead look really exciting for those in the program.

Callaway Golf the name partner to the Academy program is a recent new addition and their support will be outstanding.

Callaway is well known for the premium quality and outstanding performance of their golf products and now the Academy athletes gain access to the products and hardware if and when they so desire. The company’s equipment can be found on all major professional tours with many PGA and European Tour players synonymous with the brand. This includes recent major winners, Henrik Stenson, Danny Willett and Lydia Ko, along with other well-renowned players such as Phil Mickelson, Patrick Reed and Tom Watson.

Emily Burgess-Moore the Central Coast Academy of Sport Athlete Services Manager, said of the golf program: “It’s always exciting to launch a new program and after a bit of a slow uptake by athletes we are delighted to now have an A and B squad with really pleasing numbers to this years program. Golf is a founding sport of the CCAS and to now be offering a robust seven-month program that won’t clash with a busy golf calendar is super exciting. Those in this program will gain a massive performance advantage and I’m sure Peter Cliff the Head Coach will challenge every one in the squad to new levels of elite performance. Some of the new inclusions like SuperSpeed Golf and the work with the K Vest 3D system will ensure a new phase of golf technology being introduced to junior athletes on the Coast. These technologies just aren’t available in club land and that’s what’s makes this program so exciting”.

Congratulations to the following athletes: Annika Boyd (Toukley), Jye Crowe (Shelly Beach), Jemison Fitzgerald (Gosford Golf Club), Liam Gocher (Shelly Beach), Dylan Grogan (Wyong / Magenta / Kooindah), Cooper Hetherington (Shelly Beach), Braith Hyde (Wyong), Jake Kable (Shelly Beach), James Linnet (Shelly Beach), Reeve Middleton (Wyong), noah Miller (Toukley), Riley Millers (Gosford / Shelly Beach), Daniel Pedzikiewicz (Shelly Beach), Keegan Phillips (Toukley), Jack Toyne (Morriset).
