The Central Coast Academy of Sport will celebrate the achievements of all scholarship athletes over two special events in 2018. The revamped awards evenings will see two separate celebrations take place to allow for an afternoon of friendly competition and an evening of formal recognition.

The first event will be the CCAS VIATEK Athlete Celebration. This will be held at the Mingara Athletics track on Wednesday 10th October. The CCAS have engaged Teams Challenge Australia (TCA) to run an afternoon of friendly competition for all 2017/18 CCAS sports program athletes. The TCA team will put the CCAS athletes to the test with several high energy challenges. Following this, athletes will enjoy a sausage sizzle while the CCAS team announce the sports programs Athlete of the Year and Encouragement Award winners.

The second celebration will be the CCAS VIATEK Awards Evening. This will be held on Wednesday 14th November at Mingara Recreational Club. The CCAS sport program award winners will be invited to attend this event along with all CCAS coaches, managers, sponsors and VIP’s. The evening will be a cocktail reception where the CCAS major award winners will be announced. (To be eligible to win the CCAS Male Athlete of the Year or CCAS Female Athlete of the Year you must be awarded the sport program Athlete of the Year)

Emily Burgess-Moore, the CCAS Events Manager said of the events: ‘This two-tiered celebration allows us to incorporate all the values of the CCAS. We are able to have the athletes enjoy an afternoon of fun celebrations followed by a formal event where award winners are dully recognized. We look forward every year to recognizing the huge achievements of all CCAS athletes and the amazing support from our partners and sponsors and I’m sure the 2018 celebrations will do just that.’
