JUNE 2019, The Central Coast Academy of Sport Gosford RSL Touch Football Program has opened applications for the 2019 Touch Football Program to be led by International Open and Youth World Cup Coach Karley Banks.

The Central Coast Academy of Sport is delighted to announce that Banks will now lead the program with her recent appointment as the Head Coach to the Touch Football Program.  Banks is a qualified Physical Education Teacher with a Touch Football Elite Coaching Accreditation and Touch Football Technical and Skills Analyst Accreditation.  The outgoing Head Coach Mark Tipple has pursued an opportunity overseas in Rubgy, opening the Head Coach position for Banks to take the reigns.

Whilst the previous program was very successful, there have been changes to the program to attract the new coach.  The sessions will now be longer workshop / camp style sessions.  The program will still focus on fundamental skills, agility, strength and conditioning to give the athletes the best chance at higher level representation.

Robyn Low-Hart, the CCAS Programs and Communicatons Manager said; “Banks brings with her a lot of experience and we are excited to see what Banks will bring to this highly successful program.  Like all CCAS programs we want to ensure the athletes have the best opportunities possible to succeed and it is no secret the Head Coach of every program ultimately provides the leadership to provide those development opportunities for the athletes.  The CCAS is fortunate to have secured Banks for this program and we look forward in anticipation of a really successful touch football program”.

Banks’s wealth of experience and highlights include the first female to coach Men’s Championship winning NTL Team, the first female to coach Premier League in Sydney and Brisbane.  Banks also has a Level 3 Coaching Accreditation, giving the program another potin of different to what’s generally found in ‘club land’.
