ON Sunday the 26th of June, CCAS Head Coach Gima Crowdy ran a free ‘NetEd’ program for all registered members of the Woy Woy, Wyong and Gosford Netball Associations during the CCAS Greater Bank Netball Squads’ final training session before the upcoming 2016 Australian Invitational Youth Games Greater Netball Tournament in Maitland.

The program featured special guests Ali Broadbent (former NSW Swifts and Australian Diamonds player) and Amorette (Amy) Wild (former Australian FastNet and current QLD Firebirds player) whom were able provide a unique experience to both the CCAS Greater Bank Netball Squad and other aspiring coaches from the Central Coast area.

The NSW ‘NetEd’ program is a great educational resource that offers the chance for individuals to enhance their personal development and maximise their coaching potential. The program was originally designed to enhance understanding and knowledge of the principles of contemporary coaching which CCAS upholds through their various sporting programs.

When asked about the success of the workshop Assistant Coach Casey Judge said, “The combined experience of Gima, Ali and Amy was invaluable to the NetEd session. It helped inspire our athletes and helps establish the direction of the future of Central Coast netball coaches and our development netball squad.”

Overall 25 coaches from the Central Coast area took advantage of the ‘priceless’ workshop all of who will now be able to take what they learnt back to their clubs.

A huge thanks to Head Coach Gima Crowdy and Assistant Coach Casey Judge for organising the event and to Ali Broadbent and Amy Wild for giving up their time to join the session and to help inspire our netball squad for their upcoming appearance at the 2016 Australian Invitational Youth Games Greater Netball Tournament.
