Basketball NSW (BNSW) and Regional Academies of Sport (RASi) are pleased to announce an extension to its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will see both organisations work together in the delivery of basketball programs that will provide improved pathway opportunities for regionally based athletes across NSW.
The two-year MOU agreement will see BNSW support the work being done in the RASI environments with the aim to continue to develop coaches, identify emerging athletes and assist them as they move through the pathways from pre-elite to an elite level.
BNSW General Manager of Coaching and Development Brett Coxsedge was excited to see the partnership extended for a further two years.
“Regional Academies continue to play a very important role in the development of athletes and coaches in the Country. This year has been challenging for everyone. Never has the role of Regional Academies been more important than in the current climate. BNSW look forward to working with the seven-based Academies in Regional NSW and assisting athletes and coaches reach their potential.”
RASi Chair, Ian Robilliard also echoed the sentiments shared by Coxsedge.
“RASi is delighted to have secured the support from Basketball NSW for the many programs operated across regional NSW. As we come out of the CV-19 crisis it is encouraging that the State Sporting Organisation see’s the delivery value of supporting the Regional Academy network, our thanks to the Board and Senior Executive staff at Basketball NSW to make this happen.”
