Central Coast Academy of Sport (CCAS) has opened applications for the summer sports programs including AFL, Central Coast Granite Basketball, JNJG Golf, UAA Hockey and Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific Triathlon. Each sporting program caters for boys and girls of various ages.

CCAS is working hard to ensure that the summer program schedules will still go ahead albeit under new stricter guidelines. The programs have gone through significant remodelling several times to get to the point of being able to launch and will contain content that will benefit athletes both in a face to face environment and sessions that can be run if athletes need to be at home.

The summer programs will run from October 2020 through until April 2021. Most of the CCAS summer sport programs will then conclude their schedule at the 2021 ‘Your Local Club’ Academy Games to be held in the Hunter region. The ‘Your Local Club’ Academy Games provides a fantastic platform for athletes to finish their season of training and a great opportunity to put their skills into practice against some of the best young athletes from across the state. With the 2020 Your Local Club’ Academy Games having to be cancelled due to COVID-19 plans are underway to ensure the 2021 games can go ahead.

Robyn Low-Hart, CCAS Programs Manager said of the programs: “CCAS has lead through lockdown with athlete engagement, technology and education. It is exciting that some of the Winter Programs have managed face to face sessions through restrictions. Every compliance to NSW Health is being met to ensure the safety of athletes, coaches, managers and staff as the number one priority. The upcoming programs will be able to run under the current guidelines effectively and deliver quality development programs to athletes on the Central Coast”.

The CCAS summer sport programs are proudly supported Central Coast Granite (Basketball), Jack Newton Junior Golf (Golf), UAA (Hockey) and Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific (Triathlon).

Athletes looking to apply should ensure they meet the eligibility standards before applying.
