The CCAS Program is designed to develop Aussie Rules talent, focusing on athletes in the U13, U15 and U17 age groups. Throughout the program, selected athletes will be provided with opportunities to develop and refine the skills needed to elevate both their performance on the field and their overall knowledge of the game.

Proudly supported by AFL NSW, this program continues to provide pathways for dedicated and talented athletes within Aussie Rules.

CCAS Aussie Rules athletes will have access to the following benefits:

  • Access to a network of specialised coaches

  • Face to face training sessions (kicking, handball, tackle technique and game play)

  • On field and in gym strength and conditioning sessions (agility, coordination, running conditioning, strength based training)

  • Inter-Academy match play opportunity
  • Athlete education covering key topics eg. leadership, load management, motivation, nutrition, sports psychology

  • 3 month Mingara gym/pool/track membership
  • Athletes will receive a 10% discount at Coast Sport and discounted pricing for Victor Sports and Water to Go.

  • Access to purchase CCAS merchandise

To be eligible for selection into the CCAS Aussie Rules Program, athletes must nominate via the link provided.

Some athletes have been identified and invited by AFL NSW and the Regional Academies of Sport based on performance or potential performance levels displayed during the AFL NSW Representative Carnival.

Athlete age groups eligible are below:
Male and Female

  • Under 13’s
  • Under 15s
  • Under 17s

All athletes nominating or invited must be registered with a Central Coast Aussie Rules association/team.

The selection process for the CCAS Aussie Rules Squad will be selected via a trial for the athletes that have not been identified at the rep carnival.

The 2026/27 program is designed to support athletes in their development with the aim of preparing them for the Sydney Swans Academy Trials, held in October/November 2027.

While selection is not guaranteed through participation in our program, all athletes will be encouraged to trial each year or work towards reaching the standard required to be considered for entry into the Academy.
