The Central Coast Academy of Sport is seeing a substantial increase in the intake of athletes, in particular girls, for the summer sports programs offered between October to April as nominations are currently open and are rolling in fast.

The sports that are currently open for nomination are: AFL, Basketball, Hockey and Golf. Each sporting program caters for boys and girls of various ages.

Robyn Low-Hart, Programs and Communications Manager at The Central Coast Academy of Sport said “Our AFL Development Program has had a huge number of applicants already, and what is really exciting is that we have a girl’s program this year. Our Hockey program will also have a girl’s program – almost the same number of girls as boys and golf has a number of girls that have applied. Our very popular Basketball program is again proving to be popular with great numbers of applicants – both in boys and in girls. Our growing Triathlon Program has more than double the number of girls to boys and the program has almost doubled from last year. There are a lot of great additions to the programs including education sessions, Inter-Academy camps and training days, Health and Fitness Professionals from Mingara One Gym, Coast Sport and UON. The programs offer a great balance of education and skill development and are charged by the best coaches that the Central Coast has to offer.”

Most of the CCAS Summer Sport programs will conclude their schedule at the 2020 ‘Your Local Club’ Academy Games to be held in the Hunter region. The ‘Your Local Club’ Academy Games provides a fantastic platform for athletes to finish their season of training and a great opportunity to put their skills into practice against some of the best young athletes from across the state.

We encourage anyone that is interested in these sports to apply before the cut-off dates and to check eligibility criteria at www.thinksport.com.au
